A Juicy Life was founded on the principle that feeding the body with the essential nutrients it needs to function serves as the best prevention against disease and illness.
I have worked in the health and fitness industry for well over 10 years as an exercise specialist after obtaining my degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida. My experience in developing personalized strength training regimes – in conjunction with nutrition management – provides me with the ability to decipher between true and false information portrayed by the media. There is a lot of misinformation circulating – even within the fitness industry – on what makes a person “healthy”, which led me to conduct my own research. What I found is quite simple, it starts with proper nutrition. The question then becomes, "what is proper nutrition”?
We all have an idea of the importance of following a healthy and well-balanced diet. It is what fuels our bodies to perform daily activities and it is also what protects us from harmful disease. With technological advances and an ever-evolving society focused on work, proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle has taken a hit. We don’t realize how much we are affected by living a sedentary lifestyle until it is too late. Unfortunately, many people do not come to discover just how much everyday lifestyle choices can lead to the development of numerous types of ailments until they are sitting in a doctor’s office. There is still hope in rectifying the hole we’ve dug for ourselves. Let’s shift our focus back to the basics of human necessity, which is, essentially, the food we eat and the liquids we drink. We have the right to choose how we are going to take care of our health and that starts by being well informed.
I came across juicing a few years back when both my father and mother lost their battle to cancer. This was the catalyst that prompted me to begin my research and ultimately start A Juicy Life. Both of my parents endured rigorous forms of chemotherapy in hopes for long term remission, but their efforts were futile. So, what is the solution? No matter the advances in science it always come down to the basics – fixing the origin of the problem by implementing preventative measures that we can perform daily, such as what we eat, how often we exercise, how we detoxify our bodies, and how we de-stress.
SO WHY JUICING?
Juicing releases 90% of nutrients in the fruits and vegetables we consume, that is three times better than what we can get through chewing our own food. The nutrients found in fresh juice are also more readily absorbed by the body, through the small intestine. There are bioactive chemicals called “phytochemicals” that are found in the plants we ingest. These are necessary for our immune system to function optimally and ward off infection and disease.
In essence, it is up to each individual to choose the life they’d like to live. I would like to say 100% of us desire a happy and healthy life, and we all deserve that.
If you currently aren’t anywhere near the realm of optimal health, then it is time to make a lifestyle change, and there is no better time than today. Incorporating some delicious juice into your daily routine is a great start in improving how your body looks and feels.
